Avondale Elementary School Counselors' Corner

Welcome Back Avondale Family! We are very excited to work with you this 2023-2024 school year! The School Counseling Department at Avondale Elementary School works in collaboration with school staff, parents, families, and the community to help students meet their full potential by providing a comprehensive program that addresses the academic, personal/social, and career development of all students. We believe in encouraging students to be life-long learners and that all students are able to learn when provided with an environment that is conducive to their learning style. As professional school counselors we:

· Design and implement programs and services that focus on meeting the needs of all students

· Provide student-centered classroom guidance lessons that are focused on teaching  character education, social skills, careers paths, study skills, test taking skills, and other important skills that students need in order to be successful in school and life

· Assist students in learning about their unique learning styles

· Conduct small group lessons based on the needs of students

· Provide support for teachers so that they can meet the needs of students in the classroom

· Conduct parent workshops to provide support for Avondale parents

· Work with community agencies to provide assistance to Avondale students and families

We will work with all students so they have the knowledge and power to realize their full potential, become life-long learners, and contribute to our global society.
